Vital Records

When starting genealogy research, the first type of record researchers hope to find are vital records, that is, birth, marriage, and death records. Undoubtedly, these are the most essential and useful records, as they provide much important information: names, surnames, parents’ names and spouses’ names, dates, locations. In other words, they offer all that is needed to build a family tree. In Greece, there are two categories of vital records, based on the organization/institution creating them.
